Description

A rich and savory Wild Mushroom Cheddar Burger made with a blend of mushrooms, fresh herbs, juicy ground beef or turkey, smooth sharp cheddar, and a smoky chipotle ketchup. Everything comes together in a warm toasted bun for a flavorful and satisfying burger experience.


Ingredients

Olive oil

Unsalted butter

Assorted mushrooms such as cremini, lobster, chanterelles, and stemmed shiitakes, chopped

Shallot, finely diced

Salt and black pepper

Fresh thyme, chopped

Fresh flat leaf parsley, chopped

Ground chuck or ground turkey

Canola oil

Sharp cheddar cheese such as Tillamook Sharp Cheddar or Cabot Creamery Sharp Cheddar

Burger buns from brands such as Nature’s Own Brioche Buns, Arnold Hamburger Buns, or Pepperidge Farm Sesame Buns

Ketchup

Pureed chipotle in adobo

Salt and black pepper


Instructions

2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large pan over high heat until hot, then add the chopped mushrooms and cook until soft.

3. Add the diced shallot, salt, and black pepper, continuing to cook until the mushrooms turn golden brown.

4. Stir in the thyme and parsley, then transfer the mushroom mixture to a bowl.

5. Divide the ground beef or turkey into four portions and gently form into patties with a small indentation in the center.

6. Season the patties with salt and black pepper on both sides.

7. Heat canola oil in a pan or on a grill pan and cook the patties until browned on the first side, then flip and cook to the desired doneness.

8. Place a slice of Tillamook Sharp Cheddar or Cabot Creamery Sharp Cheddar on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover briefly to melt.

9. Toast the burger buns lightly on a grill, grill pan, or broiler until golden.

10. Spread chipotle ketchup on the bottom bun and place the cooked patty on top.
