Description

Sweet Patriotic S’mores Brownie Bars combine rich fudgy brownies with gooey marshmallows, crunchy graham crackers, and melted chocolate for an irresistible layered dessert that is easy to make and perfect for sharing.


Ingredients

1 package (16 oz) fudge brownie mix (such as Betty Crocker)

1/2 cup (120 ml) vegetable oil

2 large eggs (room temperature)

3 tablespoons (45 ml) water

6 graham crackers (broken into 1-inch pieces)

1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows (plant-based or beef gelatin)

12 oz (340 g) milk chocolate, coarsely chopped (about 8 small bars)


Instructions

• Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish

• In a medium bowl, mix brownie mix, vegetable oil, eggs, and water until smooth and well combined

• Pour batter evenly into prepared baking dish and spread into corners

• Bake for 15 minutes until partially set but still soft in the center

• While baking, break graham crackers and mix with marshmallows and chopped chocolate in a bowl

• Remove brownies from oven and evenly sprinkle the topping mixture over the surface

• Return to oven and bake for an additional 7 to 10 minutes until marshmallows are lightly golden and chocolate is melted

• Insert a toothpick near the edge to check doneness, it should come out with a few moist crumbs

• Allow brownies to cool completely before slicing into bars and serving

Notes

Use high quality chocolate for better flavor and smoother melting

Do not overbake to maintain a soft and fudgy texture

Line the baking dish with parchment paper for easy removal
