Description

Sticky Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs with Sesame and Green Onions made in a skillet with a glossy sweet garlic sauce that clings to every bite. The chicken stays tender, the glaze cooks down to a rich finish, and sesame with green onions adds freshness and texture.

Ingredients

Boneless skinless chicken thighs

Salt

Black pepper

Garlic cloves minced

Honey

San-J Tamari

Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar

Olive oil

Sesame seeds

Green onions sliced

Instructions

1.

2. Combine chicken thighs with salt, pepper, garlic, honey, San-J Tamari, and Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar in a bowl or bag and mix until coated. Let the chicken marinate for at least half an hour so the flavors develop.

3. Warm olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and place the chicken into the pan while keeping the remaining marinade aside. Allow the chicken to cook until a golden surface forms.

4. Turn the chicken and continue cooking as it browns evenly. Create a space in the skillet and pour the leftover marinade into the pan so it begins to simmer.

5. Raise the heat slightly so the sauce bubbles and thickens into a sticky glaze while turning the chicken to coat it thoroughly. Continue until the glaze clings to the chicken.

6. Remove the skillet from the heat and transfer the chicken to a plate. Spoon extra glaze over the top and finish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

7.

Notes

Marinating the chicken longer deepens the flavor and keeps the meat tender.

Always simmer any marinade before using it as sauce since it touched raw chicken.

The glaze thickens quickly because of the honey so keeping the heat moderate prevents burning.

If the sauce becomes too thick a small splash of water or broth will loosen it without changing the flavor.

Leftovers keep well in the refrigerator for several days and can be reheated with a touch of broth to restore the glaze.
