Ingredients
2 pounds ground beef chuck
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon cumin
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 heart of romaine lettuce finely sliced
4 potato burger buns such as Nature’s Own Brioche Style Buns Arnold Potato Buns or Wonder Hamburger Buns toasted
1 cup shredded Cheddar such as Cabot Shredded Cheddar or Tillamook Shredded Cheddar
1 on the vine tomato sliced
Pickled jalapenos optional
Sour cream optional
Instructions
1. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium high heat.
2. Mix the ground beef with salt cumin and smoked paprika in a bowl until just combined.
3. Form four patties and brush each side lightly with olive oil.
4. Place patties on the grill and cook until browned and cooked through about three to four minutes per side.
5. Toast the burger buns until warm with a light crisp surface.
6. Place sliced romaine on the bottom half of each bun.
7. Add a cooked patty and top with shredded Cheddar such as Cabot or Tillamook.
8. Add a slice of tomato for moisture and freshness.
9. Finish with pickled jalapenos for tang and sour cream for a smooth cooling touch.
