Description
A simple ground beef stir fry with broccoli and garlic featuring a savory sauce made with soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. The dish comes together quickly with tender beef, crisp broccoli, and aromatic seasonings.
Ingredients
1/2 cup Sempio 501 Soy Sauce or Kimlan Lite Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon honey
4 cloves garlic minced
1 piece fresh ginger grated
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
1 pound ground beef
1/2 medium yellow onion chopped
1 large head broccoli cut into florets and blanched
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
3 scallions sliced
Cooked rice or cauliflower rice
Instructions
Whisk soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch in a bowl.
Heat sesame oil in a deep skillet over medium high heat then add ground beef and onion and cook until nearly browned.
Pour in the prepared sauce stirring until it thickens and coats the beef evenly.
Add the blanched broccoli and cook briefly until heated through.
Serve the mixture over rice and top with sesame seeds and scallions.
Notes
Blanch broccoli by boiling for two to three minutes then transferring to ice water to stop the cooking.
Adjust sauce thickness by adding a bit of water for a looser consistency or extra cornstarch slurry for more thickness.
Reheat leftovers in a skillet with a splash of water to maintain moisture.
