Description

Horseradish And Crumb Crusted Salmon is a flavorful oven baked salmon recipe featuring tender center cut fillets topped with a crisp breadcrumb crust. Sharp prepared horseradish adds bold character while honey balances the heat with gentle sweetness. This dish delivers a golden crunchy topping and moist flaky salmon, making it perfect for both weeknight meals and elegant dinners.

Ingredients

Four center cut salmon fillets weighing four to six ounces each with skin on

Fine sea salt to taste

Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Half cup alcohol free fresh or panko breadcrumbs such as Ian’s Original Panko Breadcrumbs, Aleia’s Gluten Free Breadcrumbs, or 4C Plain Panko Breadcrumbs

Two tablespoons melted butter

One and one half tablespoons prepared horseradish that is not creamy

One tablespoon honey

Instructions

Preheat the oven to four hundred twenty five degrees Fahrenheit and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper

Place the salmon fillets skin side down on the prepared baking sheet and pat them dry with paper towels

Season the salmon lightly with salt and freshly ground black pepper

In a small bowl combine the breadcrumbs, melted butter, salt, prepared horseradish, and honey until evenly mixed

Spoon the breadcrumb mixture evenly over each salmon fillet and gently press it into an even layer

Transfer the baking sheet to the oven and roast until the salmon is opaque around the edges and tender in the center

Switch the oven to broil and toast the crumb topping until golden while watching carefully

Remove from the oven and let rest briefly before serving

Slide a thin spatula between the salmon flesh and the skin and transfer to plates

Notes

Using center cut salmon ensures even cooking and a moist interior

Prepared horseradish strength can vary, so adjust slightly based on taste preference

Cooking the salmon to medium doneness keeps the texture tender and flaky

Keeping the skin on protects the fish during roasting and makes serving easier

Breadcrumbs should be lightly pressed so they toast evenly without becoming dense
