Notes
The original Big Mac sauce traditionally excludes ketchup however adding natural ketchup improves color and adds smooth sweetness many home cooks prefer
For a smoky twist stir in a splash of an alcohol free barbecue sauce made from tomato paste honey vinegar and spices
To add heat mix in a small amount of your preferred hot sauce such as Texas Pete Original Hot Sauce Crystal Hot Sauce or Sriracha Panich Hot Sauce
If you prefer sweeter relish use sweet pickle relish and omit the granulated sugar
Use a creamy full fat mayonnaise for best texture the sauce will thicken slightly when chilled so stir before serving
