1 bag (10 oz or 283 g) semi sweet chocolate chips
Gel food coloring (red and blue)
Instructions

• Cream softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy
• Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition
• Mix in vanilla flavor until smooth and airy
• Add baking soda and salt, then mix briefly to combine
• Gradually add flour and mix until a soft dough forms without overmixing
• Divide dough into three equal portions
• Leave one portion plain, color one portion red and another blue using gel food coloring
• Fold chocolate chips evenly into each portion of dough
• Take small pieces from each dough color and gently combine to form a marbled 2 oz dough ball

• Bake until edges are lightly golden and centers remain soft, about 8 to 9 minutes
• Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet briefly before transferring to a cooling rack
Notes
Use softened butter for the best soft and chewy texture
Gel food coloring gives vibrant colors without changing dough consistency
Avoid overmixing the colored dough to keep a clear marbled effect
Chill dough for 20 minutes if cookies spread too much during baking
Cookies will continue to firm up as they cool
Store cookies in an airtight container with parchment paper between layers
Cookies stay fresh for up to 3 days at room temperature or 3 months in the freezer
