Description

A soft and fragrant Cinnamon Brown Sugar Bread with a warm cinnamon swirl tender crumb and buttery crust. Perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack.


Ingredients

1 tablespoon butter

1 1/3 cups sugar

4 teaspoons cinnamon

2 cups all purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

3/4 teaspoon salt

1 egg

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon alcohol free vanilla flavor such as Alcohol Free Simply Organic Vanilla Flavor or Watkins Clear Vanilla Flavor

1/3 cup canola oil


Instructions

2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and butter a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.

3. Combine 1/3 cup sugar with 3 teaspoons cinnamon and set aside.

4. In a medium bowl mix flour baking powder salt remaining sugar and remaining cinnamon.

5. In another bowl whisk egg milk oil and alcohol free vanilla flavor.

6. Stir wet ingredients into the dry mixture until just combined.

7. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan and sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture.

8. Add the remaining batter and gently swirl with a knife.

9. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar on top.

10. Bake about 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

11. Cool for 10 minutes then transfer loaf to a plate.

12. Press the sides of the bread into the loose cinnamon sugar that falls onto the plate.

13. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Avoid overmixing to keep the loaf tender.

Check the loaf with a toothpick in the center for proper doneness.

Use fresh cinnamon and baking powder for best flavor and rise.

Room temperature milk and egg help create a smoother batter.

Store at room temperature for up to three days or freeze for up to two months.
