Brown Sugar Glazed Donut Bread

Description

A soft cinnamon scented loaf with a warm donut like flavor and a sweet brown sugar glaze.


Ingredients

1/2 cup butter softened

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon Alcohol Free Simply Organic Vanilla Flavor or Watkins Clear Vanilla Flavor

1 cup milk

2 cups all purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon cinnamon

1/4 cup sugar for topping

1 teaspoon cinnamon for topping


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a loaf pan.

2. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Add the eggs one at a time then mix in the alcohol free vanilla flavor.

4. Stir in the milk.

5. Whisk flour baking powder salt and cinnamon in a separate bowl.

6. Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.

7. Pour batter into loaf pan.

8. Mix topping sugar and cinnamon then sprinkle over batter.

9. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

10. Cool 10 minutes before removing from the pan.

Notes

Optional add ins include chopped nuts dried cranberries raisins or extra warm spices.

A powdered sugar glaze can be added for more sweetness.

For freezing slice the loaf first then wrap and store.

Reheat slices in the microwave for about 15 seconds.
