Description

Ingredients

For the quick bread:

– 1 stick butter, softened

– 3/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1 egg

– 1/2 cup milk

– 1/2 cup Daisy or Organic Valley sour cream

– 1 tsp Simply Organic or Watkins Clear alcohol-free vanilla flavor

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 3/4 tsp salt

– 1 tsp ground cinnamon

– 1 tsp baking soda

– 1 tsp baking powder

For the streusel topping:

– 5 tbsp cold butter

– 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed

– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

– 1 tbsp cinnamon

For the icing:

– 1/2 cup powdered sugar

– 2-3 tsp milk


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350° F.

2. Cream softened butter and granulated sugar together until smooth.

3. Add egg and mix well.

4. Add milk, sour cream, and alcohol-free vanilla flavor and combine.

5. Sift together flour, salt, cinnamon, baking soda, and baking powder.

6. Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until smooth.

7. For streusel, cut cold butter into brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon until crumbly.

8. Add half of batter to a prepared pan and sprinkle with 3-4 tbsp streusel.

9. Add remaining batter and smooth top. Optionally swirl lightly.

10. Top with remaining streusel evenly.

11. Bake uncovered for 55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

12. Whisk powdered sugar and milk until smooth for icing.

13. Cool bread for 10 minutes, then remove from pan.

14. Drizzle icing over completely cooled bread and serve.

Notes

Use room-temperature butter for easier mixing.

Bread can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

For longer storage, wrap in plastic wrap and freeze up to 2 months.

Optional additions: chocolate chips, nuts, or extra cinnamon.

Icing is optional; add just before serving to maintain freshness.
