Description
This cranberry pie recipe combines fresh cranberries, orange zest, and raspberry jello for a vibrant, tart-sweet dessert that’s perfect for the holidays.
Ingredients
1 9-inch deep dish pie crust, baked
1 cup water
1/2 cup orange juice
1 tsp orange zest
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 (12 oz) bag fresh cranberries
1 (3 oz) package raspberry jello
Instructions
1. In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together water, orange juice, orange zest, and sugar until fully combined.
2. Gradually whisk in cornstarch until smooth.
3. Add cranberries and stir gently.
4. Cook for 10–15 minutes, smashing berries as they burst, until thickened.
5. Remove from heat and stir in raspberry jello until fully dissolved.
6. Pour mixture into pre-baked pie crust.
7. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until set.
Notes
Use fresh cranberries only. Frozen ones add too much moisture.
Let the pie chill for a minimum of 4 hours. Overnight is ideal.
You can substitute different jello flavors, but raspberry complements the cranberries best.
Optional mix-ins include chopped pecans or mandarin oranges for added texture.
Smash the berries while cooking to release natural pectin and improve consistency.
